Wagging Tails and Biking Trails: Bleu’s SVBC Story

At the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC), we’ve had the pleasure of working with many incredible people over the years. But there’s one team member who’s always stood out—not just because of his boundless energy and friendly demeanor, but because he has four paws and a tail that wags whenever he’s on the job. Meet Bleu, the service dog who became an honorary staff member, a beloved companion, and a constant source of joy for all of us.

As Bleu and his human, Diana Crumedy, prepare to embark on a new chapter at Caltrans, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible impact Bleu has had on our organization, our community, and the people he’s worked alongside.

Bleu wasn’t just a service dog; he became an integral part of the SVBC family. From day one, he greeted everyone with enthusiasm and a warm presence, helping to break the ice at events, meetings, and summits. Whether lounging quietly under the table during strategy sessions or making friends with other bikers at community gatherings, Bleu brought a sense of calm, support, and companionship that enriched our workplace.

Much like Diana, Bleu had a mission at SVBC: to support the coalition’s efforts to make Silicon Valley a more connected and vibrant community. The official "good boy" of SVBC, his presence was felt by all and he never failed to bring a smile to people’s faces, all while helping create a more welcoming, inclusive environment.

As Bleu and Diana transition to their new roles at Caltrans, we know that their impact will continue to grow. Bleu may be leaving SVBC, but he’ll carry his supportive spirit to a new team, bringing joy and calm to an entirely new group of people. We have no doubt that Bleu will thrive in his new surroundings and continue to be a beacon of positivity wherever he goes.

Thank You, Bleu!

As we say farewell to Bleu, we want to express our deep gratitude for everything he has brought to the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition. He has shown us the value of companionship, the importance of small moments of joy, and the power of a warm, friendly presence in a busy world.

Bleu, you’ll be missed, but we’re so excited for your new adventure. Best of luck to you and Diana at Caltrans! Keep being the incredible service dog you are—your paws have left a lasting imprint on SVBC and all of our hearts.
