May is Bike Month and we celebrate it with Bike to Wherever Days May 15 to 17. Pre-pandemic, Bike to Work Day was a celebration of bicycling with the opportunity for those who don't usually bike to give it a try once for their commute. The celebration has evolved into Bike to Wherever Days to encourage the community to ride for errands, visit friends and family, commute to school and work, and ride recreationally.

Gear Up for 2025 BTWD

SVBC’s group bike rides are free and open to all. We ride at a casual pace, and our trained ride leaders develop your skill and build your confidence in urban biking.

No matter which level are you at—new to bikes or experienced rider—we have classes to help you become more confident and capable with bikes.

Volunteering is an easy way to make bicycling better and help save our world. SVBC has many volunteer opportunities!

For information, contact violeta@bikesiliconvalley.org.

BTWD is the region’s signature event designed to engage and introduce people to the benefits of bicycling for daily use. The event provides an inviting opportunity to embrace bike riding as a sustainable commuting option and a way to improve health, wellness, and reduce traffic congestion. A positive experience on BTWD inspires new bike riders to continue the habit year-round. We have a month-long program to spread bicycling love and awareness by organizing classes and social rides to parks, shops, libraries, and other destinations. Highlighting bicycling as a practical, traffic-free alternative to driving, and a fun way to get around, especially since it can replace the typical 5-mile car trips.

Sponsoring an SVBC event is a wonderful way to contribute to a safer, healthier, friendlier, more efficient, more economical, less congested, and less polluted community. It also allows you to communicate your company’s commitment to these values as sponsors are recognized in a variety of ways before, during, and after each event.

An excellent opportunity to showcase your logo to the larger community on beloved canvas bags, t-shirts, and posters. Sponsors are also gratefully acknowledged on our website, in emails, press releases, and via social media channels.

Congratulations to the Bay Area Bike Champions of the Year!

Find and celebrate the amazing riders and advocates below.

Jordan Moldow,
Santa Clara County

Jordan's work in the community has contributed significantly to bike advocacy. A notable example is Jordan's involvement in addressing the overlooked issue of trash obstructing bike lanes in San Jose. After noticing that waste management audits failed to acknowledge this as a problem, Jordan mobilized fellow cyclists—including some from SVBC's San Jose Local Team—to speak at city council meetings.

Max Cohen,
San Mateo County

Max Cohen is shifting gears in community development and bicycle advocacy in the scenic stretches between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay. His commitment to making biking comfortable and accessible for all marks him as a local business owner, a community visionary, and a champion of bicyclists everywhere.
