Celebrating Diana Crumedy: A Champion for Safer Streets

Today, we take a moment to honor and celebrate the incredible contributions of Diana Crumedy, who has been a pillar of advocacy and engagement at Silicon Valley Bicycle for nearly 3.5 years. As she embarks on a new chapter in her career as a Transportation Planner at Caltrans, we reflect on the lasting impact she has made during her time with us.

Diana joined SVBC as a Santa Clara County Advocate, quickly proving her commitment to safer streets and more bike-friendly communities. Her passion for advocacy, paired with her sharp strategic thinking, led to her becoming the Associate Director of Advocacy and Community Engagement. In this role, Diana’s leadership and collaborative spirit were key in building stronger partnerships with local teams and expanding the reach of our mission.

One of Diana’s standout achievements was her role in the 2022 Safe Streets Save Lives demonstration, an initiative that highlighted the urgent need for safer infrastructure and brought together community members, policy-makers, and advocates to push for lasting change. Her dedication to this cause was unwavering, and the demonstration became a powerful voice for change in the region.

Diana also played a crucial role in the El Camino Real rides from 2021 to 2024, supporting local team members and ensuring these events were successful in raising awareness for bike safety on one of the Bay Area’s most vital corridors. Her behind-the-scenes work made these rides a unifying force in the community, demonstrating the power of collective action in creating safer streets for all.

As Diana moves on to her new position at Caltrans, we are confident that her passion and expertise will continue to inspire change on an even larger scale. We are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished at SVBC and excited to see the positive impact she will have in her new role.

Thank you, Diana, for your dedication, leadership, and the lasting legacy you leave behind. Best of luck at Caltrans—you will be missed!
