This post was written by our spring intern, Jay Van Biljouw as his last task at SVBC last week. Jay worked with us from April to June. We are so thankful to Jay for all the work he accomplished in his short time here, including this incredible map!One question we get a lot here at SVBC is "what sort of work do you do over there?". While it is easy for us to say that our mission statement is to "create a healthy community, environment, and economy through bicycling for people who live, work, or play in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties", that can be a bit of a mouthful and isn't the most tangible answer. Well, not anymore! In response to this often-posed question, I set out to make an interactive map of all of the policies, program, and events that SVBC has been involved in over the last five years. These were pulled solely from the blog section of our website, so there might be a few that slipped through the cracks, as well as some that do not represent well in a spatial sense. You can view the map from either our Programs page or Better Biking (Advocacy) page. Take a moment to look through the map and see where SVBC has been involved in your community! Whether it was in advocating for a road diet or bike lane, leading a family bicycling workshop or hosting a bike parking corral, we hope that this map helps to shed some light on just how hard we work here!

To use the map, zoom in, pan through, and click on any point or line to bring up links to the relevant blog posts and then copy and paste into your browser bar for more information on that specific project or program. We will update this map over time.
Enjoy!
