San Mateo County's Measure W/A Strategic Plan Update
We are about to mark the one-year anniversary of the passage of Measure W. Over this year, SVBC has been working with San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA) on the Strategic Plan for implementation of the funding measure. The Draft Strategic Plan 2020-2024 is now open for comments thru Nov. 15 and will be approved in early December. Check out the blog for more info and how to provide feedback!
Victory! Measure W Passes in San Mateo County Bringing More $ to Bikes + Transit
After over three weeks of counting votes and a day to day rollercoaster we can finally declare victory for Measure W, the transportation ballot measure in San Mateo County that will bring $80 million/year to improve public transit, create safer bike and pedestrian routes, reduce traffic, repair roads, and address other urgent community needs. We won!
Your Voices Heard, Caltrans and County Settle Dispute to Build Page Mill/280
Over the summer, we updated you that the Page Mill/280 striping project that was designed and funded in 2016 after the tragic death of Jeff Donnelly in 2015 had still not been completed. We are happy to now report that Caltrans and the County have resolved the issues that were preventing the project from moving forward.
San Mateo County – Vote YES on Measure W
SVBC urges you to vote YES on Measure W, the San Mateo County transportation ballot measure on the November 6 ballot. As we shared over the past year, SVBC worked with SamTrans, TEAMC, our members, and numerous other stakeholders on the expenditure plan and we support the resulting measure. Read on to learn how Measure W supports biking.
Vote NO on Prop. 6
SVBC urges you to vote NO on Proposition 6 on the November ballot. Proposition 6 would repeal the increase of the gas tax passed through Senate Bill 1 (SB1) in 2017 and require voter approval of all new gas and car taxes in the future. SVBC sees the importance of SB1 funding for supporting local projects and programs, including funding for bike projects, transit, and other important projects around the state.
