Local Leaders Bike in San Mateo County

Bike to Work Day is fast approaching on May 10! SVBC, along with Commute.org, is leading the Third Annual Elected Officials Bike Ride that morning in San Mateo County.The ride will be between Redwood City and the Dumbarton Bridge and highlight the Dumbarton Corridor, the Chilco bike path, the Bay Trail, and other bike routes in East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, and North Fair Oaks. Elected officials and members of local Bike and Pedestrian Committees, as well as city and county staff, are invited to attend.Last year we were joined by Supervisor Dave Pine, Redwood City Councilperson Shelly Masur, Belmont City Councilperson Davina Hurt, as well as representatives of the Redwood City and Menlo Park Complete Streets Committees. That route went from Menlo Park to Redwood City and included discussion of the Oak Grove Bike Boulevard, Middlefield bike lanes, Woodside Road improvements, and other local projects.We hope to bring even more community leaders together this year to share both the problem areas and the good projects going on to contribute to a bike-friendly San Mateo County!
