Ross Road Roundabout City Education Event this Wednesday!

To help educate residents about the traffic calming elements nearing completion at Ross Road, the City of Palo Alto is hosting a Ross Road Bike Boulevard event this Wednesday, April 11 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Ramos Park (800 E. Meadow Drive). As part of a larger engagement effort on City bike projects, members of the public will have a unique chance to interact with City staff about implementation of the Ross Road and East Meadow roundabout. The project is intended to reduce the number of conflict points among people biking, walking, and driving as compared to a traditional intersection. • Cameos by the new Safe Routes to School bike safety mascots “Siggy” the human traffic signal and “Coney” the human traffic cone,
• Demonstrations to show safe ways to bike on Ross Road during school arrival/dismissal times,
• Sidewalk riding video animation,
• Bike and driver safety information,
• Dockless bikes from OFO, LimeBike and other vendors that can be checked out and used to ride down Ross Road.

Refreshments will be offered at an energizer station including coffee and “roundabout” pancakes.Ross “Road Scouts” will also be available to accompany those interested in riding with someone down Ross and learning more about the safety features. For more information on the project, go to www.cityofpaloalto.org/bikepedsafety.
