Radio KKUP’s I Love My Bike Life Radio Program

This is a guest blog from local bicycling advocate, Silicon Valley Bikes! Festival organizer, and SVBC member Diane Solomon.
If you haven’t heard of Radio KKUP, it’s amazing!
For almost 45 years it's been 100% commercial free, listener supported and a volunteer-run labor of love 24/7.  Found at 91.5 fm and streamed from www.kkup.org, it mostly features music in the blues, blue grass, country, folk, garage, jazz, Hawaiian, reggae, oldies, world, new age and psychedelic rock genres with special offerings by KKUP’s Latino Collective. There is weekly poetry programs and a new monthly program called “I Love My Bike Life Radio”.
I won’t bore the pants off of you explaining how I came to produce and host programs on KKUP, but each month Bike Life radio has a lot to interest KKUP’s Santa Clara County and Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay listeners.
I hope you’ll tune in to KKUP on the first Sunday of each month from 5 to 6 pm.
Listen in on Sunday, April 3rd, from 5 pm to 6 pm. My co-host will be Tony Le, President of one of Silicon Valley's largest and oldest bicycle clubs, the Almaden Cycling Touring Club. Tony will talk about the ACTC and its upcoming April 30th Tierra Bella Bicycle Tour. We'll also hear from the Sea Otter Classic (April 14-17, 2016) and the Eroica California Festival in Paso Robles, April 8 - 10.
Many thanks to Teri Nguyen for the “Bike Life” name and for Justin Triano’s popularizing of it.  Thanks to our past guests:  SVBC staffers Carlos Velazquez, Colin Heyne; Tracy Corral from Cycle California! Magazine; Cowgirl Bike Courier's Cain Ramirez; VTA's Karen Gauss and Lauren Ledbetter; Bike Monterey County's Mari Lynch; Bike Santa Cruz County's Amelia Conlen; Cory Caletti of Santa Cruz County's Regional Transportation CommissionSan Jose Bike Clinic and the [Santa Cruz] Bike Church's Josh Muir.
