Public Meeting on Page Mill/280 Improvements-April 20

[retweet][facebook]Good news regarding Page Mill/280. Since I last wrote, the County met with staff from Los Altos Hills, Palo Alto, Caltrans, and VTA. I was also at the meeting, as was Palo Alto Bicycle Advisory Committee and VTA Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee member Paul Goldstein. We rolled out big maps of the area, listed all the existing problems, and discussed solutions. Speed reduction through the intersection (and elsewhere on the corridor) was the primary concern.Since that time, VTA has allocated some funds for an interim solution. County Roads and Airports is also pursuing grant funding. The County has entered into a contract with a consultant, who has been given all the input from previous public outreach and the recent staff meeting. Now I'm happy to announce the next step, a public workshop at which some concepts will be presented for your feedback. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 20, 6:00 pm. We will meet at the Los Altos Hills Town Hall. Details are below. I hope you'll all be able to make it, to show the involved agencies how important this issue is and to offer some valuable input from the user perspective. What: A Community Meeting to share with the public and seek its input about proposed interim bicycle improvements through the Page Mill Road and I-280 interchange area.Who:  Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian and professional staff from partner agencies, including the Santa Clara County Roads and Airports Department, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), Town of Los Altos Hills, City of Palo Alto, and CalTransWhen: Wednesday, April 20, 20166:00pm Open House6:30pm Formal Presentation BeginsWhere: Los Altos Hills Town Hall, Council Chambers, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, CA 94022
