New Silicon Valley Trails Organization

A new organization, "Save our Trails", has just been formed. It defines itself as “a citizen based group made up of active individuals who are united in the shared goal of preserving and securing the trail network throughout San Jose, Santa Clara County, and the Silicon Valley.”

It has the following Mission Statement:

A public interest group of residents and neighborhood associations dedicated to assisting local governments to defend, acquire, construct, and maintain the Santa Clara County Master Trail as established in the County and City Generals Plans for the enjoyment of all persons.

Although the group is less than a month old, it already has a core group of dedicated members whose first priority is to preserve the right-of-way for the Three Creeks Trails from development, and to ensure that the Los Gatos Creek Trail is completed from its current terminus to the junction with the Guadalupe River Trail in San Jose. Those who share its vision and are willing to work toward achieving its goals are heartily invited to join.

You can get more information by joining the Save Our Trails group on www.facebook.com or by emailing <saveourtrails@gmail.com.> Or, better yet, join us at our next meeting on Saturday, March 28th at 10:00 am at the Willow Glen Baptist Church, 1292 Minnesota Ave. (corner of Hicks) in San Jose.
