There are vacancies on the bicycle advisory committees for Caltrain, BART, and Caltrans District 4. Several of these seats are allocated to representatives of the local bicycle coalition, which is us! Advocacy at SVBC is a two way street. We rely on members like you to provide on the ground knowledge and experience and to keep us informed. In turn, we provide the expertise and links with agencies and other communities. But we can’t do it alone: serving on committees like these ensures that voice is represented at a broader, regional scale and allows SVBC to stay up to date with the agencies serving us.

If you’d like to represent SVBC and your community on one of these committees, please see below for more information. For each of these seats, you must:

  • Be a current member in good standing with SVBC.
  • Be willing to communicate with our Policy Manager before and after each meeting.
  • Abide by SVBC policies and positions in your representation.
  • Attend occasional SVBC Policy Advisory Committee meetings at the SVBC office in San José on the fourth Thursday of the month at 6 pm.
