Celebrating Heather Wolnick: A Champion for Bike Advocacy

As we celebrate the incredible work of Heather Wolnick, we also bid her a heartfelt farewell after two wonderful years with Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition. Heather’s journey with us began as a passionate volunteer with the San Mateo local team, where she quickly demonstrated her deep commitment to making streets safer to walk and bike. She became a vital SVBC staff member bringing her unique volunteer perspective to the table, ensuring that all of our initiatives are grounded in the needs and experiences of our community.

One of Heather's standout achievements has been her tireless work expanding bike parking across San Mateo County. Her efforts have made it easier for neighbors to commute and explore the area, knowing they have safe, reliable places to park their bikes.

This year, Heather also played a key role in organizing our annual summit, curating an engaging event that brought together leaders, advocates, and enthusiasts from across the region. Her creativity and leadership shone through with the introduction of the youth PechaKucha, giving the next generation of advocates  a platform to share their innovative ideas and inspiring visions for the future of biking.

We are deeply grateful for Heather’s contributions, and we can’t wait to see what she’ll accomplish next!
