Bike Month is coming – and we’ve got your back!

A good ride is a better ride with people you enjoy.

May is Bike Month – and home to Bike to Wherever Days. It promises to be the most fun you can have on wheels.

What to do? We’ve got your back.

Check out our new Bike Month Events Calendar.

You’ll find dozens of rides, classes, events and volunteer opportunities. They’re all free and put together with you in mind, by the good people at Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and our many bike and community partners across San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. We’re celebrating Bike Month all through May, and Bike to Wherever Days May 18-20.

  • Tour of murals in San Jose? Tour of murals in Redwood City? Got it!

  • Ride for Boba? Got it!

  • Courses covering bicycling skills from beginner to advanced, or bicycle maintenance, or riding with family members of all ages? Got it! Got it! Got it!

  • A county-wide bike-rack decorating contest?

  • A chance to ask Valley Transportation Authority about your bicycle or pedestrian transit questions? Got that too!

  • Want to volunteer – whether for class credit or as an interesting way to be a community helper and meet like-minded people? Be a bike-parking valet at events at Levi’s Stadium or other locales. Take part in one of the two big SVBC Bike Bash parties in Palo Alto and San Mateo. Energize thousands of cyclists at fun Energizer Stations that support riders for Bike to Wherever Days. Deliver boxes of farm-fresh food to people in need. And there’s more.

The fun possibilities go on.

Check them out — see the Bike Month Events Calendar.

While at it, Pledge to Ride at least once during Bike to Wherever Days. Being a pledger is free, you’re supporting healthy communities, and could help your city win SVBC’s prestigious Cities Pedal Power Challenge.

And, just a thought, ask friends or family to pledge to ride too — a good ride is a better ride with people you enjoy!
