Meet Your 2023 Bike Champions of the Year for San Mateo and Santa Clara counties!

One is a 17-year-old high school student from San Jose with a strong interest in the environment, and the role of the bicycle in tying together transit and communities. The other is a teacher and community catalyst from Half Moon Bay who’s built a regional network focused on getting donated bikes into the hands of farmworkers, the unhoused and others in need, and on advocating for street and trail access and safety. Both are being honored as part of Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition’s annual Bike to Wherever Days celebrations.

May is Bike Month — and Bike to Wherever Days. We have plans for you!

Events for all. There's much to do during the coming month. You’ll find dozens of rides, classes, bike repair sessions, events and volunteer opportunities, for everyone from kids to beginners to experienced riders. They’re all free and put together with the broadest community in mind, by Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and our many bike and community partners across San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. New events are added frequently.

See the events calendar.

Pledge to ride. Your pledge is free — it’s a pinky promise to get out in the open air. The goal is to have thousands of people riding around the Bay Area May 16-18, feeling the joy of biking. We’ll have Energizer Stations of supporters across San Mateo and Santa Clara counties to keep you pumped up and going. And when you pledge to ride, you can receive a free Bike to Wherever Days 2024 tote bag from an Energizer Station near you and have chances to win a random drawing prize from local bike shops. You’ll also be kept in the loop about Energizer Stations in your neighborhood and SVBC's Bike Bash celebration on May 18!

Pledge to ride!

And there’s more!
