Bike to Work Day is Postponed

We’ll cut to the chase: Bay Area Bike to Work Day 2020 is postponed to Thursday September 24.

It wasn’t easy to come to this decision, and it wasn’t made alone. In conjunction with our partner Bay Area bike coalitions, we took a look at our world’s current health crisis and knew Bike to Work Day could not continue as planned this year.

Bike to Work Day, with its new date set for the fall, will be just as fun and exciting! It’s too soon to say exactly what parts of the day we’ll need to adjust, but we promise to keep you in the loop. Details will also be posted on our Bike To Work Day site.

While the delay of Bike to Work Day is disappointing, it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy Bike Month in May. We're still working through ideas and would love to hear any thoughts you might have about games, challenges, social media events, or anything else you think bicyclists young, old, and in between would be interested in. Click here to share your thoughts with Event Coordinator Tim Oey.

Bicycling by yourself or with your household members is a great, socially distant way to get some fresh air–just make sure you stay six feet apart from anyone you cross paths with!

We know Bike to Work Day is an event many of you look forward to each year, and we know we’re making the best choice for the health of Silicon Valley residents. If you have any questions or concerns about the delay of Bike to Work Day, please reach out to Tim.

Thank you for supporting the bike movement during this challenging time! We’re looking forward to celebrating Bike to Work Day with you on September 24. Stay healthy.
