The Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge Bike Tour, October 20

Did you know you can ride your bike on the National Wildlife Refuge trails around the San Francisco Bay? I invite you to a special bike ride along the Don Edwards SF Bay National Wildlife Refuge on October 20, 1- 3 pm, which entails a quick turn off the trail in the Alviso area of the south Bay and into a beautiful and magical place.
The Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge has an Environmental Education Center, where you can learn about the wildlife within the region. But, the best part about the area are the ponds that I’ve explored, rich with wildlife and history.
I invite you to join me for a bicycle tour at the edge of the Bay around one of the major ponds to view and learn about the birds from local biologists, hear from scientists about the efforts and successes of salt pond restoration, and go back in time when the towns of Alviso and Drawbridge (the ghost town of the Bay) were first developed with an historian. You'll get to see just how connected each of us are through our actions to our watershed.
This family-friendly ride will be on Saturday, October 20 from 1-3PM, finishing with refreshments and an unveiling of the new Watershed Sculpture at the entrance of the Education Center. RSVP at https://bikeridetoureec.
