Get a Sneak Peek and Vote on Future Caltrain Bike Cars at the Silicon Valley Bicycle Summit, August 8

For years, Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition has been working with Caltrain on increasing and maintaining bicycle access on the trains. Back in 2015, our advocacy convinced the Caltrain Board to commit to adding more capacity for bicycles on board the new electrified trains, set to debut in 2021. With two bike cars per train and more trains per hour, bike capacity will be at an all time high. Now, Caltrain staff needs YOUR help figuring out what the future bike cars will look like. At the Silicon Valley Bike Summit, August 8, you can not only see a presentation from Caltrain staff, Lori Low, on the types of bike accommodation the agency is looking at but there will also be a first look demonstration of the different on-board bike options in the parking lot next to the bike valet for you to try out. Lori’s presentation will be one of the breakouts, at 11:35 am in the Saturn Room. Before you arrive, check out the potential options. An online poll will be available at calmodtrains.com from August 8 through midnight on September 1. If you can’t make the Bike Summit, check out the bike car demos at one of the following events/Caltrain platforms near you:
