Santa Clara County Roads Commission seeks to fill two vacancies
There are two vacancies that need to be filled on the County of Santa Clara Roads Commission:
The purpose of the Santa Clara County Roads Commission is to give advice and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on matters generally relating to the planning, design, construction, maintenance, operation and funding of our County's expressways, highways and roads and such other matters as directed by the Board. This includes pedestrian, bicycle, and transit uses of County expressways and roads as well as efforts to promote city-county-VTA cooperation on traffic issues.
The Roads Commission provides oversight to the County’s Roads Department, including annual budgets, developing policy priorities to recommend to the Board of Supervisors, participate in planning studies relating to the County’s expressways, rural roads, and their intersection with other jurisdiction’s road networks.
The Commission meets monthly at the County Building.
(1) Appointee shall represent the public at large. Appointment is for an allocated 4-year term which commenced on 7/1/13 and will expire on 6/30/17. Seat 01. Supervisor Wasserman - District 1
(2) Nominee shall represent the public at large. Nomination for board-as-a-whole appointment is for a rotating 4-year term which commenced on 7/1/13 and will expire on 6/30/17. Supervisor Simitian - District 5
