Are you passionate about doing more to help combat climate change? Or maybe making our cities more sustainable, bike-friendly places to live? Or maybe you just want to ride through the epic coastal scenery of Northern California. To fulfill any or all of these desires, we have a great ride and an amazing adventure for you! Join Team SVBC for the Climate Ride California 2013.
Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition first partnered in 2012 with Climate Ride, the premiere environmental event in the country, for the annual California Climate Ride. We raised over $7,000 to directly support our bicycle advocacy work. This May we are hitting the road again! You could be a part of Team SVBC this year: enjoying an amazing 5-day ride from Eureka to San Francisco, getting inspired by the advocacy work of your fellow riders, and knowing that you are really making a difference for biking and for climate change.
We would love to have you join Team SVBC for this year's Climate Ride California starting May 19th, 2013 in Eureka. Each rider has to raise $2,400 for the charity of their choice, and Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition is an approved charity. When you select us as your beneficiary, a portion of every dollar you raise for the Climate Ride will go to support Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, which means our efforts will gain even more traction in the future. What is Climate Ride California?
Climate Ride California is a five-day, fully-supported bicycle ride from Fortuna to San Francisco under towering redwoods, through the Russian River Wine Country, and along the Pacific Coast Bicycle Route - one of the most scenic coastlines in the world.
Climate Ride is more than a bike trip – it’s an inspiring journey with 200 like-minded people who are united by their passion for sustainability, renewable energy, and bicycles - the ultimate carbon-free form of transportation. Climate Ride also features an acclaimed nightly speaker series, known as the ‘green conference on wheels,’ where we hear from bright minds in policy, advocacy, and innovation.
The ride starts on May 19th, 2013 in Fortuna and ends in San Francisco on May 23rd.
