Peninsula cyclists - What are your thoughts on the Holly St./101 design alternatives?

Are you a concerned Peninsula cyclist? Want to have your say about freeway overpass design?

Well, come join us for SVBC's monthly Peninsula Committee meeting this Thursday and share your ideas over dinner. We will be meeting at Ladda's Thai Cuisine, 2053 Broadway, in Redwood City (three blocks from Caltrain). The social hour is 6:00-7:00pm, and the regular meeting is 7:00-8:30pm.

At this month's meeting, we'll be discussing the design alternatives the City of San Carlos is considering for improving access to and from US 101 via Holly Street. The City is requesting citizen input and has posted a brief description and diagram of each alternative at:

One of the goals of the redesign is to improve the area for bicyclists and pedestrians; so, our input is important. As a united voice for area cyclists, SVBC would like to send a letter regarding our preferred designs. We also encourage you to submit your personal opinions to city staff. The City of San Carlos asks that you select your three favorites and send your comments to: holly101 (at) cityofsancarlos.org by November 9, 2009.

If you can't attend the meeting this Thursday, please comment on this post below so that your perspective is considered when deciding which design(s) SVBC will recommend.
