Creating not only bike paths, but also creating community.

In case you haven't noticed my brief bio on this site, I thought I would take this moment to give you some additional insight in my role here at SVBC. Having worked in the bicycle industry, participated in Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committees, and worked with other bike advocates around the country and the world, I hope I can contribute to SVBC's goals.

My main objective this blog is to create dialog, disseminate the latest news from the cycling world, find out what you think about current cycling issues, and create awareness of some of the incredible changes happening to our community; here locally, across the state, and across the nation. But even beyond all this; my main goal is to motivate each and every one of you to do your part to advance and contribute to cycling issues in the Silicon Valley.

With so many changes planned to our built environment, I look forward to keeping you updated on the Grand Boulevard Initiative (the remaking of the El Camino Real), the Diridon Station area in San Jose, the building of the nations first high speed railway, as well as other issues that effect us cyclists. Whether you race, commute, tour, recreate, or take the kids to school; these projects will affect your cycling lifestyle.
