Metropolitan Transportation Commission Public Workshops

A series of public workshops will be held as part of a major update to the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's (MTC) regional transportation plan for the Bay Area, Transportation 2035. Members of the public are invited to provide input as we debate the trade-offs among various investment strategies designed to protect our existing transportation assets and accommodate future growth, alleviate congestion, reduce pollution and ensure mobility for all Bay Area residents, regardless of income.

The Bay Area Bicycle Coalition is asking MTC to invest $2 billion in bicycling and walking in this plan revision (the BABC platform is available for download: BABC.T2035 Platform.102307.pdf, PDF 1.2 MB). That request is one of many that are competing for a $30 billion in available discretionary funds. We need to make our voices heard that investing in active transportation modes will improve livability, increase safety, protect our climate and the environment, reduce congestion, better public health, and improve the affordability of this place we call home.

Take this opportunity to express your opinion to your representatives on MTC's Commission. To find the workshop in your area please visit the Transportation 2035 Public Workshop page.
