Here’s a fun bike trail & other things to do while in Lower Peninsula Watershed:
LOWER PENINSULA Watershed – Rim Trail OR Adobe Creek Fun Bike Trail
We have two beautiful bike ride options for you this week!
Your Rim Trail directions are as follows: Stevens Creek Reservoir is an 82 acre reservoir with over 9 miles of challenging single track and multi use trails. An easy introduction to gravel rides, 1-mile trail route provides a great opportunity to break out the mountain bike and ride in the dirt! Begin Rim Trail at end of Chestnut parking lot. Follow trail until you come to a road; cross (watch for traffic) and continue on trail. At the Y, stay to left and proceed 0.2 miles, then make a sharp left turn onto paved trail (if you continue on Rim Trail to Stevens Canyon Road junction you have gone too far and need to turn back – unless you’d like a more challenging ride). Pass red gate (Baytree parking lot is on right with a restroom) and travel along 2-way park road, passing park office on left. Continue on road, passing old bridge and back onto Rim Trail to Chestnut parking lot. There is a 28 station roving archery course and range which is open to the public.
Your Adobe Creek Fun Bike Trail directions are as follows: Alternatively, as part of the Lower Peninsula watershed, Adobe Creek Loop Trail and is easily accessed from a parking lot at the northern end of San Antonio Road. It’s an easy 5.5 mile out and back gravel trail perfect for all skill types. It offers a beautiful view of the wetlands and since it’s a migratory path, there are lots of bird viewing opportunities. In summer, expect large Pelicans, and winter has more smaller shorebirds. You can probably site a few hares as well.
