On February 17, 2017, Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition (SVBC) and Joint Venture Silicon Valley released “Silicon Valley Bike Vision,” at the State of the Valley Conference, a gathering of 1,500+ of Silicon Valley’s leaders.
The report outlines the possibilities, challenges, and next steps to make the bicycle a major mode of travel locally.
SVBC’s overarching goal is to get 10% of trips in San Mateo and Santa Clara County taken by bike. Though some cities individually are much closer, it is at 2% across the two counties.
This report will be an important tool for SVBC and other local bike advocates to generate support among business and government leaders, and will also be used as a guide to measure regional progress moving into the future.
