The city of San Jose sees it's 7th Bicycle Fatality of 2021

We are extremely saddened to share with you the most recent fatality of someone while riding a bicycle in San José. It is the seventh fatal bicycle traffic collision in San Jose in 2021. On Monday morning the bicyclist was riding with a bicycle trailer when he was struck by a driver going southbound on Bascom Ave. Our hearts go out to the bicyclist’s friends and family.

The victim was riding south on Bascom Avenue near the I-880 on/off-ramp. The collision was reported at 10:18 am on Monday, November 29th and the bicyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office after confirming his identity and notifying the next of kin.
