Join SVBC for the Ride of a Lifetime: Climate Ride

SVBC is on a roll – a Climate Ride roll, that is! We are forming a team for the February 2018 Climate Ride, which will be a four-day cycling and camping adventure through Death Valley.But wait – there’s more!  Each evening, riders get to learn more about how we – as individuals, government agencies, and private companies – can create and preserve a healthy environment.  Climate Ride provides meals and takes your camping gear to the next stop, leaving you free to enjoy the breathtaking views and exhilarating rides in an area on many riders’ wish lists.Maria Ristow of the Los Gatos Community Alliance enjoyed participating in prior Climate Rides so much that she's doing it again! She hopes more people will join the SVBC Team, because "The Climate Ride combines enjoying beautiful natural places at a riding pace, connecting with people sharing similar aspirations to improve the world, and time away from everyday routines. Spending several consecutive days cycling and camping is inspiring! I come home from each ride with a renewed energy to work for change in active transportation."Climate Ride is a nonprofit group focused on supporting sustainability and active transportation through biking and hiking events.  Each participant gets to choose the recipient of their fundraising efforts from a list of organizations, one of which is (of course!) SVBC. As you know, we envision a community that values, includes, and encourages bicycling for all purposes for all people.  SVBC advocates for better bike infrastructure in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, and educates people of all ages and backgrounds on how to use the bike for transportation. We offer free, secure bike parking at countless events throughout Silicon Valley and often sponsor social rides where bikers rekindle a connection with their local communities.We love to ride bikes, and having you join us would make the Climate Ride even more fun and meaningful!
