Join the SVBC King of the Mountain team

The King of the Mountain Charity Challenge is coming soon, on May 15, and we are excited that SVBC will be hosting a team for the first time ever!

There are two team challenges - Company Participation (based on the number of your team participants) and Company Time (based on the average time of your top three finishers in the KOM timed ride).

All riders are asked to register by May 11. Riders can register by emailing this registration form to monica@bikesiliconvalley.org or by faxing it to 408-213-7559.

Each rider will receive a special custom SVBC Jersey along with a KOM event shirt. We will also provide full SAG support for SVBC team members -- our own executive director and KOM mistress of ceremonies Corinne Winter will be supplying you throughout the morning with fresh baked goods and other yummies, and will carry your bag from the start to the finish for you.

Here is a brief agenda for the event (this agenda is also available on the Bike Registration website):

7:00-7:45 a.m. Bib pickup and light refreshments at the Berryessa Community Church, 3355 Sierra Road, San Jose, 95132

8:15 a.m. KOM ride starts on Sierra Road (directly across from the Berryessa Community Church)

9:30 a.m. KOM ride officially ends at the Sierra Summit Vista (porta-potties and light refreshments provided)

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Sit-down lunch and awards ceremony at the Ed Levin County Park, Spring Valley Picnic Area, 3100 Calaveras Road, Milpitas, 95035 (portapotties and lunches will be provided). The Ed Levin County Park Spring Valley Picnic Area is part of the loop from the Sierra Road Summit to Calaveras Road. It will take approximately 30-40 minutes from the summit to the picnic area. We have chosen this site for our official lunch and awards ceremony because the Amgen Tour of California professional cyclists will pass directly alongside this area on their route to Livermore. The professional cyclists are due to start their race at 11:15 a.m. at the Berryessa Community Center, and they are estimated to arrive at the Ed Levin County Park at approximately 11:25 a.m. Our KOM riders can eat their lunch and watch the pros ascend the hill on their way to Livermore.
