Serving our country
This morning I happened to be in the office at 8:00 am when Peter Brull from the League of American Bicyclists called me to let me know that the LAB members had elected me to their board of directors. He's evidently on east coast time.
I was invited to run for the LAB board by several of their existing board members. Although sitting on the board of an active national organization will take a lot of time, it fits well with SVBC's policy goal to spend a portion of our efforts on national-level advocacy. The SVBC policy advisory committee thinks it's appropriate to put a portion of our efforts at the national level because that is where so many important funding decisions are made.
I look forward to serving cyclists across the nation in this capacity. I know many of you voted for me--thank you!
