Call for applications for Caltrans District 4 Bicycle Advisory Committee

caltransCaltrans is now taking applications for membership on the District 4 Bicycle Advisory Committee (D4 BAC).

As the bicycle advocacy organization for two counties in District 4, SVBC may assign two liaisons to serve as our organizations representatives to the D4 BAC.

The D4 BAC meets quarterly (January, April, July, October) on the third Wednesday of the month from 1:30 to 3:30 PM at the Caltrans building at 111 Grand Avenue in Oakland.

Qualified liaisons will represent SVBC in a professional manner in a number of roles, including:

  • Advise and assist Caltrans on implementation of its Complete Streets policy.
  • Review and provide input on district planning and project initiation documents in order to
ensure that bicycle needs are being duly considered and accommodated.
  • Review programs/projects to ensure consistency with the Regional Bike Plan.

BAC members must live in the county they represent, and be willing to travel to Oakland for meetings.
