Redwood City cyclists - help cycling in your city!

Do you want to help Redwood City become more bike-friendly? Join the new RWC workgroup!

SVBC is forming a working group to work with Redwood City staff to provide input on bicycle-related projects. The workgroup is being formed primarily due to financial difficulties in Redwood City which have delayed institution of their Complete Streets Commission, which would normally provide input to City staff on bicycle and pedestrian issues. Thus, this workgroup will serve until a suitable commission is able to fulfill this function for the City.

The workgroup is open to residents of RWC and others who have an interest in Redwood City's bike infrastructure. We would like to include a broad spectrum of people including experienced and novice cyclists, parents who bike with young children, as well as those who want the streets to be safer before they start biking again. We need diverse perspectives to make sure the City addresses the needs of all types of cyclists.

The group will meet in person as needed and will also be available to city staff via email for quick input on minor and/or time-sensitive projects. You can participate in the meetings and/or provide input by email as much or as little as you want - it's all completely voluntary.

If you or someone you know is interested in being part of this working group, please email Caryl Gay (caryl@bikesiliconvalley.org). City staff are looking to set up the first meeting in the near future, so we want to make sure that those who are interested are included.
