Metropolitan Transportation Commission: Advisory Committee Positions

MTC is currently recruiting to fill vacancies on all three of its advisory committees: the MTC Advisory Council, the Elderly and Disabled Advisory Committee and the Minority Citizens Advisory Committee. Each committee makes recommendations on a range of transportation issues and projects being considered by the Commission – from the regional transportation plan to state and federal legislation to general planning principles for the Bay Area. Advisory committee members attend monthly meetings during regular business hours and may receive a stipend. The deadline for applications is Monday, October 27, 2008; however, applications will be accepted until all positions are filled. <p>The following positions are available:</p>

<p>Minority Citizens Advisory Committee:</p>
<ul>
<li>Contra Costa County – One representative from the Hispanic/Latino community </li>
<li>Napa County – One representative from either the African-American or Asian communities </li>
<li>San Francisco – One representative from the Hispanic/Latino community </li>
<li>San Mateo County – One representative from the Asian community </li>
<li>Santa Clara County – One representative from either the African-American or Asian communities </li>
<li>Solano County – Two representatives from either the African-American, Asian or Hispanic/Latino communities (each representing two separate communities) </li>
<li>Sonoma County – Two representatives from either the African-American, Asian or Hispanic/Latino communities (each representing two separate communities) </li>
</ul>

<p>Elderly and Disabled Advisory Committee:</p>
<ul>
<li>San Francisco – One representative of the disabled community </li>
<li>Santa Clara County – One representative of the disabled community; one representative of the senior community </li>
</ul>

<p>Advisory Council:</p>
<ul>
<li>One individual to represent engineering interests </li>
</ul>
