Bike Summit 2022 - Call for Proposals

Submit a Session Proposal for the 12th Annual Silicon Valley Bike Summit

The time is finally here! You won't have to worry about someone saying “I can't hear you, you are on mute” because this year's Summit (drumroll please) will be in person. More and more of us are moving back to in-person interactions. After a few years of Zoom overload, we are offering the chance for the introverts to live again. Have you been looking for a chance to engage and connect with people in real life? Did you or do you know someone who gave a presentation that would have been even better with audience participation and the opportunity to engage with the audience without the limitations of a screen? Do you have an important topic such as equity, micromobility, or parking minimums? Do you know someone who gave the best presentation you’ve seen that needs to be shared with the SVBC Bike Summit community?

Well, you’re in luck because we are soliciting proposals for the 12th Annual SVBC Bike Summit which brings together over 250 Bay Area citizen activists, city and county staff, elected officials, business representatives, consultants, non-profit workers, Bike and Pedestrian Advisory Committee members, and others working in transportation.

The Summit will be held in the month of August. Exact date TBD. For info on last year’s Summit see here

About the Summit:

The Bike Summit is a weekday, one-day conference (in-person this year) intended to educate the community on key issues related to bicycling in San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties as well as bring together people working in this field. Sessions are about 1 hour 15min long including Q&A and may feature multiple speakers and/or related topics.

We are requesting proposals from speakers/moderators via this form. Please share this form broadly so we can have a dynamic and varied Bike Summit. The deadline for submission is Friday, April 15th, 2022. Decisions on sessions will be made in April and May 2022. Depending on the proposals we receive, we may merge topics and speakers into a single session.

Would your employer like to sponsor this event? Sponsorship is a great way to connect with and have visibility in front of folks that are most active in advocacy for biking and other forms of active transportation. When possible, we are thrilled to have sponsors take on speaking roles in the program. We also gratefully acknowledge sponsors on all relevant signage as well as on our website and via social media channels.
