Cyclist killed in Redwood City

On Wednesday, October 14, a cyclist was killed in an accident on the corner of Shoreway Road and Holly Street in Redwood City. This is sad news, and our condolences go out the cyclist's family and friends.

When a cyclist is injured or killed the tragedy affects the entire cycling community. At SVBC, such sad occasions urge us to work even harder to make cycling safer, and to improve the behavior of all users of the road.

We will continue to work toward these goals. Programs like our Share the Road initiative strive to make cyclists and motorists more alert and respectful. And our advocacy efforts seek to create more bicycle infrastructure to keep cyclists safe on the road.

As we mourn the loss of a fellow cyclist, we view this tragic incident as a call to continued action.
