SVBC rolls out Share the Road presentation

June marked the beginning of SVBC's Share the Road presentation, the latest element of our ongoing Share the Road initiative. The presentation aims to enhance motorist and cyclist understanding of relevant safety issues, including obeying traffic laws, preventing collisions, being courteous and slowing down.

So far audiences have included folks at NASA and the VTA Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee, as well as the Peninsula Committee of SVBC. The presentation lasts 20-30 minutes and covers safety issues as they pertain to both motorists and cyclists. Our goal is to foster a dialogue between motorists and cyclists. We believe that the first step in increasing safety is to promote understanding and mutual respect. SVBC plans to give the presentation to a wide variety of organizations - from cycling groups to motorist associations and the public at large.

If you belong to an organization that would like to know more about sharing the road, a presentation can be arranged for your next meeting, training, or event. To schedule a presentation, please contact Jen Brecheen at jen@bikesiliconvalley.org.
