Wow what a great group
It's simply amazing to me how much we've been accomplishing the last couple of weeks. Thanks to everyone, it seems like we are on a fast track towards complete mission fulfillment!
Our staff especially have simply amazed me... they've been working together very well gearing up for Bike to Work Day as well as the Tour of California and all sorts of other interesting opportunities.
Thanks to Gladwyn for working through all the Tour of California bicycle valet and outreach details, on top of tireless BTWD sponsorship calls. Thanks to maiki for constantly bringing up things at just the right time... like dealing with paypal vs groundspring memberships and donations, and also for your patience working out our calendar system. Thanks to Anne for your willingness to take on new projects like editing the 2008 goals assessment while working out great office policies.
To our tireless volunteers...
The board of directors has been doing amazing things putting together a fundraising plan for 2009 and working with our Stanford intern Hollis to develop a framework for expanding membership.
Thanks to MaryAnn for meeting with potential funders with me, to Jack for helping with scoping the membership committee, to Paul and Mark for your policy leadership, and Greg for looking into that cool new project after Peter suggested it. Thanks to all of you who came to the new board member orientation, that was fun.
Thanks to Ryan Kauffman, one of our new board members, for having dinner with me and discussing his upcoming involvement in the membership committee as well as giving me priceless advice for the 2009 Company BIke Challenge.
Then there are groups of member volunteers like our Caltrain Workgroup, who met with Caltrain executive staff members this week to discuss further implementation improvements on the train system.
Thanks to the Peninsula Committee and particularly Caryl Gay, who has spearheaded sending out a bunch of great support letters for good works in various San Mateo County cities the last couple of months.
Jack and Chad, you two are absolute superstars for working with me on that grant LOI, you made it into a fun and inspiring brainstorming exercise.
And the list goes on and on, but it's nearly 1 am and I should probably go to bed.
Oh yeah--thanks to Steven Brewster at the City of San Jose for all the tips on cool iPhone apps after the Tour press conference Wed. And of course Tricia for working with us a beneficiary of the SJ Cycling Classic, which is very exciting.
I just want you all to know that you are inspiring and wonderful people, and you are the reason that I remain, year after year, at my post.
