Bright Lights, Bike City party recap

SVBC Annual Winter PartyNo year of SVBC bicycle advocacy is complete without a winter celebration complete with food, music, and the people that make it all happen – our dedicated members and volunteers. This year’s Winter Party took place on Friday, December 6 at the Lucie Stern Community Center in Palo Alto.

This year's celebration was kicked off by… yes, you guessed it – a bike ride! Roughly 25 winter weather warriors met ride leader Janet Lafleur at the Downtown Palo Alto Caltrain station. They paraded their brightly lit bikes through streets full of bedazzled homes to the party where they were, of course, greeted by a bike valet. All in all, nearly 90 members braved the cold and rain to meet and talk to other fellow cyclists while enjoying the delicious food, lively music, and exciting silent auction and prize drawing. We would like to express our greatest appreciation to all the members and volunteers who helped us accomplish so much this year, particularly our event planning committee, who took the lead in planning and putting on another fun winter party – Thanks!

Check out many more photos of the fun at Janet Lafleur's Flickr page.
