Off to Copenhagen

Off to Copenhagen

I’m off for a one-week study trip to Copenhagen! Thanks to the City of San José, Knight Foundation, and 8-80 Cities for inviting me along, paying for the trip, and organizing the trip, respectively. Thanks as well to my boss, Corinne Winter, for letting me go.

This will be my first trip to continental Europe, and the first time I’ve been to a truly bike friendly city. I’m very excited to see in person some of the street treatments and extraordinary roadway behavior that, until this point in my life, have seemed more like myth than reality.

I have plenty to learn and I’ll put together a full report when I get back. In the meanwhile, farvel!

  1. Hi Colin,

Recommend taking your slides/ ppt to Caltrans District 4's Bike Advisory Committee for sharing. Barring that, you could invite yourself to D4 for a brown bag symposium. Here's the link for the D4 bike and ped programs:

The contact info is at the bottom of the page. Would also suggest taking it to VTA's BAC. I believe the liaison is Lauren Ledbetter.
