Bike rodeo volunteers wanted

Do you want to help teach important bicycling safety skills to youth? Join our hard working Safe Routes to School team as we strive to get more kids (and their parents) on bikes through interactive events and activities. This is a great way to refresh your biking safety knowledge while having a great time. In the upcoming weeks we will host several biking events where we will teach kids safe riding techniques, proper helmet fit, and most importantly, the fun of riding a bicycle!

Take a look at the events listed below and let us know if you’re interested in helping out at one or more of the events. Most shifts are 2-3 hours long, but they are a full day's worth of fun.

April 21 – Bike Rodeo 12:00 to 3:00 pm, Menlo Park
May 3 – Family Bike Night 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Redwood Shores
May 4 – Bike Rodeo at Streets Alive, Parks Alive! 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Belmont
May 8 – National Bike to School Day 8:00 to 10:00 am, Santa Clara
June 8 – Bike Fest 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Millbrae

No previous experience is necessary, just enthusiasm for teaching kids to bike safely. Come on out and enjoy a few hours in the sun with a crowd that is eager to ride! Please contact Megan@bikesiliconvalley.org if you’re interested in helping out, and we’ll make sure to give you all the details.
