*Peninsula Bikeway Launch
September 8, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Come join us September 8, 2018 for the launch of the Peninsula Bikeway. We will celebrate the opening of the interim bikeway and begin planning for the future, high quality bikeway that our region needs. Come join elected representatives and staff from the five cities for a fun, informative event at Burgess Park in Menlo Park to learn about the Peninsula Bikeway and to help shape its future.
Ride to interim Peninsula Bikeway with others from your City. Rides will start in Mountain View, Palo Alto, and Redwood City. Details to be added here soon!
The event will include fun events for the family, as well as information about the Peninsula Bikeway and opportunities to provide input and ideas.
Up and down the Peninsula, cities are working to improve conditions for bicycling. The Peninsula Bikeway is an idea that has grown out of the coordination of four cities—Redwood City, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and Mountain View—to better connect our cities and the region.
With over 320 sunny days a year, typical daytime temperatures ranging from 50 to 70 degrees, and relatively flat terrain, the Peninsula is just about the perfect place to ride a bike. But our current bike networks often do not connect and freeways and major streets are challenging to use or cross on a bicycle.
The Managers Mobility Partnership has come together to help advance the concept of a Peninsula Bikeway that connects our four cities and eventually the entire Peninsula. We have worked collaboratively to designate an interim route that uses existing bikeways and local streets.
We are now working to build a long-term Peninsula Bikeway that is more direct, safe, and comfortable.
