Fun & prizes for kids 7+ and up!
A Bicycle Rodeo and Safety Event will be held for kids of all ages on Saturday, May 10th from 10 am – 1 pm in the south parking lot at the Fair Oaks Community Center, located at 2600 Middlefield Road in Redwood City.
This free family event includes bike and helmet safety information, bike check-ups, and a cycling skills clinic. The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, the Siena Youth Center, and the California Highway Patrol will be assisting with bike and helmet inspections and light repairs. Free snacks and drinks will be provided.
“The event will feature obstacle courses with some fun challenges for the kids! These activities are a great opportunity to reinforce safe biking practice in a fun environment,” said Supervisor Warren Slocum, San Mateo County Board of Supervisor member who represents the North Fair Oaks district in Redwood City.
Helmets are required to participate in the bike rodeo. Smaller sized bike helmets will be given away (while supplies last!)
You must be seven (7) years or older and be able to ride a bike in order to participate in the cycling skills clinic. Participants will receive a free pair of combo front and rear safety lights and a cool event t-shirt (while supplies last!)
All event registrants are eligible to participate in the raffle! Prize giveaways include a $50 Target gift card, a $50 ToysRUs gift card, $25 Fandango movie cards, $5 Starbucks cards, ChicoBags and Kryptolok bike locks. Participants must be present at the time of the drawing to win.
