Bike to Work Day is here and we have less than a week to go! Tens of thousands of bike enthusiasts across the Bay Area are expected to gear up and join in on a greener commute to work on Bike to Work Day 2019 happening Thursday, May 9, 2019.

Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition has teamed up with Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors to get more and more people biking through various activities and events. As a part of these activities we will be organizing infrastructure rides, fun rides, hosting commute workshops, bike parking, and for Bike To Work Day, we will be organizing BTWD rides, and hosting energizer stations. This year SVBC is collaborating with Santa Clara county District-3 office to host a BTWD ride and next year, a BTWD ride with the respective supervisors will happen in all the five districts!

District- 3 office Supervisor Dave Cortese has been very supportive of biking and walking. In his current term on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, his accomplishments include securing funding for more school crossing guards and an evaluation of “hot spots” of pedestrian and bicycle collisions and fatalities in order to improve conditions.

It is a pleasure to host this year’s BTWD ride with Supervisor Dave Cortese and the details of the event are as follows –

Ride Start: 1993 McKee Road, San Jose CA 95116 (East Valley Behavioral Health Center)

Wheels Roll Out: 7:30 am

With a stop at Supervisor Dave Cortese’s Energizer Station along the way to fuel up on refreshments, goodies, and smiles!

Energizer Station Location: 1555 Berger Drive, San Jose, CA 95110

Hours: 8:00 – 9:30 am

Ride End: 70 W Hedding Street, San Jose, CA 95110

Register here to join the ride. The ride is open and free for everyone to join. Participants are welcome to join for a part or all of the ride on Bike To Work Day.

We look forward to riding with you and making 25th year of Bike to Work Day a huge success!
