Farewell to Ben

As difficult as it is for me to say, I will be leaving my post at Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition as Santa Clara County Advocate and moving on to pursue further studies.I am deeply humbled to have had the opportunity to learn and grow in the company of such accomplished, earnest, and dedicated staff—as well as SVBC members and businesses whose contributions of time and money help sustain our organization’s work.In my brief but spectacular time at SVBC, I have come to understand the bicycle and the many ways in which it can be used to build community and sponsor change. Through time and space, the bicycle has been an important vehicle for social, political, environmental and economic change, as evidenced by its long and storied history. The advancement of access to better biking for people—without regard to age, ability, income, gender, sexual orientation or ethnicity—continues on, and I am fortunate to have worked in support of forming a more perfect (biking) union.Again, I owe a great debt of gratitude to my colleagues for imparting to me a bit of their brilliance and shine. Should you like to join this phenomenal team, or know of someone who might, please apply for and share this job listing.Au revoir! I’ll see you in the protected bike lane on El Camino Real!
