SVBC Policy Advisory Committee meeting
Aug 23, 2012The Policy Advisory Committee generally meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month to discuss policy issues of interest to SVBC and advise the SVBC board and staff on positions. Members of the committee are appointed; meetings are open to current SVBC members.
San José City Council approves Hedding Street bike lanes
Aug 22, 2012Good news from last night's San José City Council meeting! The Council voted unanimously to approve a buffered bike lane along Hedding Street, between 15th Street and the Guadalupe River Trail.
Due to some resident complaints, a few blocks of the project will retain on-street parking, which means the lanes in that section will not be buffered. As a compromise, Councilmembers Liccardo,... read the whole note.

SVBC San José Team meeting
Aug 02, 2012The SVBC San José Team meets each fourth Wednesday of the month, but August's meeting has been rescheduled for the fifth Wednesday. Dinner and networking start at 6:30 pm, then the meeting gets rolling at 7:00.

Palo Alto City Council approves California Avenue Streetscape Project
Aug 01, 2012On Monday, July 23, Palo Alto City Council approved the California Avenue streetscape project unanimously, after a motion to go ahead with a trial failed 2:7 (Holman/Schmid). The project will reduce the low-vehicle-traffic 4-lane street to 2 lanes, and use the additional space for sidewalk widening and bike access.
