San Jose trails survey
The City of San Jose needs your feedback. The city has recently opened trails along Coyote Creek, Penitencia Creek, and Albertson Parkway. Please take the following survey (one survey per project) to offer your thoughts about the community outreach, design and construction of each project. Your input is requested no later than Friday, February 26, 2010.
Give your input on San Jose streetlights
Do you walk, bike, drive, or jog in San José after dark? Are you frustrated by the inability to discern colors under San José’s current yellow streetlights? Would you like to see the stars at night when you step out your back door? Are you eager to see the City realize its goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions?
Then please attend a streetlight demonstration to provide input on new types of streetlights the City is considering. This City-sponsored event will be held on Wednesday, March 3 and Thursday, March 4 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. You are welcome to attend either night.

City of San Jose is updating its Sign Code
The City of San Jose is planning to update its Sign Code. Currently there are signs directing motorists to freeways throughout the city, but there are no signs directing bicyclists to bike routes. Please attend one of the meetings noticed below to ask for bike route destination-based signage for all routes in the San Jose bicycle master plan and the VTA bicycle map. Ask that San Jose use the same signage concept as used in SF and Marin.
For a picture of the SF signs see http://cs.cementhorizon.com/archives/sf_bike_route_sign.jpg, and for a map of the routes in San Francisco see http://www.sfbike.org/?maps.
The City of San Jose is beginning a major update of the Sign Code, and they need your input. Please join them for a community discussion of signs and help them identify the key issues that should be addressed in the update.
