Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition community equinox bike ride
Meet up in San Carlos for a fun bike ride to celebrate the vernal equinox. This community ride, hosted by the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, will generally travel counter-clockwise around Redwood Shores on flat terrain. Detours will take the group to see the bike lanes on Twin Dolphin and trail connections near the dog park and the Redwood Shores Library.
Along the way, the group will cross over a couple of tricky freeway overpasses at Ralston and Holly Streets. Timid riders will want to proceed with caution, but there will be several, more experienced riders to help out.

San Carlos Ride
The Peninsula Committee of the SVBC has been conducting "City Rides" to explore San Mateo County city by city. The group rides aim to highlight the successes of each community in supporting cycling for everyday transportation and recreation, as well as to identify trouble spots in need of innovative solutions. Following Mark Eliot's ride around San Mateo last August, and Bob Cronin's tour of Menlo Park in November, Didrik Hoag will be leading a ride through San Carlos this Sat, Jan 24th. The ride will be 12-15 miles at a moderate pace, and we'll stop for lunch afterward. Stay tuned for information on Gladwyn d'Souza's tour of Belmont and Redwood Shores in late February.
