Experience Downtown South San Francisco!
A Walking Tour About What Downtown Could Look Like
Saturday March 22nd, 2014 10am-11:30am
Organized by: Coalition for Community Benefits (including SVBC) and Sierra Club Loma Prieta Chapter
Come see what changes may be in store for the Downtown Area. The Coalition for Community Benefits invites you to attend a walking tour of the area that stretches from the Caltrain Station on the East side of Highway 101 to Linden Avenue and Spruce Avenue.
Hear more about plans and ideas for pedestrian safety, affordable housing, economic vitality, parks and train station improvements. Throughout the tour, you will get to hear directly from city and county staff and community leaders about the opportunities and challenges that the redevelopment of the downtown entails. Some of the guest speakers include Dan Sherman from Genentech, Debra Camarillo, the Executive Director of The Latino Commission, a direct service nonprofit located in the heart of downtown, Gita Dev from the Sierra Club, and Cathleen Baker, Senior Community Health Planner, San Mateo County Health System.
The draft Station Area Plan will be made public at the end of March. Come learn from experts and fellow community members to prepare for important decisions for the City.
Space is limited, please RSVP here by March 17.
