San Jose is fortunate to be one of a small handful of U.S. cities to host experts from the Dutch Cycling Embassy’s Think Bike program. The program provides Dutch bikeway design expertise to cities seeking creative solutions for challenging or constrained locations for bicyclists. The Dutch Cycling Embassy’s Think Bike program brings Dutch engineering expertise that has contributed to bicycling rates exceeding 30% in several Dutch cities. The workshop will include an opening session open to the public, two small invite-only study groups, and a closing session open to the public. Each small group will focus on a specific downtown San Jose location that is difficult for bicycling.
SVBC is thrilled to work with the City of San José on this program. We will be participating in the study groups and invite everyone to join us for the public sessions on the morning of Monday the 22nd and the evening of Tuesday the 23rd. San José is making an admirable effort to get more people taking trips by bike. We're proud to be part of that effort!
