Volunteers are needed to help out at the Noddin Elementary Bike Roadeo. The Roadeo will feature four stations that groups of students will visit, learning a simple safety technique at each one. For example, there is a station to learn avoiding objects in the street, and to check over your shoulder for cars.
This Roadeo is especially exciting as Noddin Elementary was on the verge of banning bicycles altogether. This event is part of an agreement reached with the principal wherein safe riding skills are taught to the students in exchange for continued permission of bike commuting. By volunteering your time, you can help prove that children are capable of riding safely, and should be encouraged to do so often!
Six to eight volunteers are needed between 8:30 am and 2:00 pm, though the event will likely be over well before 2:00. Lunch will be provided! Yum!
