ADVISORY: Police everywhere along Steven's Creek, central and mercy st

August 14, 2009 - 7:35pm -- MJK

Might want to avoid that area for now

Was riding there a few days ago and noticed a Santa Clara County Sheriff in a SUV. He seemed to have pulled out and followed me, maybe surprised when I took the lane, signaled, and stopped at the stop sign. Didn't even realize he was there until I got a ways down Stevens Canyon Road. I think it's a good thing to see them out there patrolling, keeping traffic more sane with their presence. Any reason to avoid them? (I guess I don't understand; I'm new here).

There were several police officers all concentrated in a small area, questioning several men, perhaps homeless camping out along Stevens Creek. I don't know but they were not patrolling traffic and some serious business was going on.

By "avoiding that area" I meant for that afternoon.
