The Senior Games will require a few road closures and slowdowns throughout its two weeks at Stanford. The following are expected:
Saturday, Aug. 1
2 to 11 p.m.: Road closure in front of Palo Alto City Hall, on Hamilton Avenue between Ramona and Bryant streets.
7 to 8:45 p.m.: Five- to 10-minute delays on the Stanford University campus and in downtown Palo Alto should be expected due to a roving motorcade with police escort for torch runners. The route will follow El Camino Real from the University Avenue Caltrain Station south to just below Stanford Stadium, around Churchill Mall, Nelson Road, Avery Mall, Campus Drive, Palm Drive and into downtown Palo Alto along University Avenue, south on Cowper Street, west on Hamilton Avenue and ending at King Plaza in Palo Alto.
Sunday, Aug. 2
8 a.m. to noon: Seaport Boulevard and east of Blomquist Street in Redwood City will be closed to through traffic for triathlon events. Access to the public will be at the direction of the Redwood City Police Department. Expect slight delays.
Thursday, Aug. 6, and Friday, Aug. 7
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Full road closure on Canada Road in Woodside between Runnymede and State Route 92 for bicycle races. A service lane via Jefferson Avenue allows access to homes for residents. Emerald Hills residents are asked to detour via Interstate Highway 280 and Farm Hill Boulevard. Residents should expect five- to 10-minute delays if using Canada Road.
Monday, Aug. 10
9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Full road closure on Canada Road in Woodside from Edgewood Road to State Route 92. Access to Filoli Estate is open via Edgewood Road. Residents should expect five- to 10-minute delays if using Canada Road.
